The Opportunity
The Division of General Internal Medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital / Northwell Health invites applications from board-certified or board-eligible Internal Medicine physicians for a full-time Clinician Educator faculty position at Lenox Hill Hospital, Manhattan, New York. This is an academic appointment through the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell with rank commensurate with experience.
We are seeking a physician who is passionate about both primary care and medical education to join our growing Division. This role combines meaningful primary care clinical practice with a robust academic mission, offering the opportunity to shape the training of future internists in one of New York City's most dynamic residency programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Precept Internal Medicine residents in our ambulatory Primary Care Practice on the Upper East Side
- Maintain a longitudinal primary care panel within a Lenox Hill Hospital primary care Faculty Practice
- Educate, evaluate, and mentor Internal Medicine residents across all training tracks
- Contribute to the academic and scholarly mission of the Division through curriculum development, quality improvement, and medical education research
- Collaborate with faculty on educational innovation and program development
About Our Division
The Division of General Internal Medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital is a vibrant and expanding group of faculty dedicated to high-quality medical education, primary care delivery, and faculty development. We provide ambulatory education to 78 Internal Medicine residents across several distinct training pathways:
- Categorical Internal Medicine Program
- Primary Care Track
- LGBTQ+/HIV Care Track
Our faculty hold diverse clinical interests that reflect our commitment to serving the full breadth of our community, including:
- Perioperative Medicine
- Women's Health and Menopause Care
- LGBTQ+ Care

Ideal Candidate
- MD or DO from an accredited institution
- Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine
- Eligible for or holding an active New York State medical license
- Experience or strong interest in ambulatory teaching, curriculum development, and/or medical education scholarship
- Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered primary care
- Interest in contributing to health equity and serving diverse patient populations
- Prior teaching experience in a residency or medical school setting preferred

Full-time clinical base compensation at Northwell Health ranges from $125K to $750K, which is impacted by various factors, including but not limited to physician specialty, level of experience, quality of care, academic accomplishments, patient experience and productivity. The base compensation range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
